NATASHA POLY :back to blonde

When we began collating our take on 2011's hairstyles we wrote of the idea of just changing it as major driving force behind any 2011 hair colour choice. And behind that ideal, amongst others, was model Natasha Poly who, in late 2010, transitioned from standout blonde to more subtle brunette. Admittedly for her features it wasn't the best of choices. Hence, here at New York's fashion week and during the Alexander Wang showing, we discovered she'd returned to being a statement blonde.

Of all the 2011 hairstyles we've featured to date none has struck a chord quite as much as thedouble knot hairstyle - its effortless look impressing many a fashioniser.
When I first penned our guide to the trend we included a brief summary detailing how the style had been created on the catwalk, but asked our readers to let us know if they wanted something more detailed. Well, you asked and we have again put pen to paper.
Read on for the full how to, and don't forget that if you'd like to keep up to date with all the latest hair and fashion trends to subscribe to Fashionising.com's newsletter or RSS fee

WAVED TOUSLED HAIR :HOW TO
Not every red carpet or evening hair style needs to be highly dressed. Indeed, when we attended the recent Australian Film Industry Awards we witnessed plenty of stars opting for understated, effortless looks. One popular style was long, waved tousled hair; glamorous yet with a bohemian edge and still appropriate for 2011's hair trends. Lee Matthews for ghd created the style on actress Phoebe Tonkin for the 2011 AFI Awards ceremony.
After the jump you'll find how to create the look for yourself.
EMMA WATSON  :another way to style it
Contemplating the pixie crop as your 2011 hairstyle but are worried that you'll be relegated to a swept forwards, boyish look? Then take some inspiration from Emma Waston's photo shoot for Stylist magazine where you'll find a thoroughly rock-chic styling of the hair cut.

The redheaded fair maiden is delicate, pale and mysterious. Think Pre-Raphaelite beauties with blushing cheeks and wide eyes. Repunzel braids, twists and chignons interwoven with wildflowers or ribbons are perfectly suited to this look. Try pairing it with some of the most striking 2010 fashion trends to give it a modern edge.

Plaited halo :Caroline Brasch Nielsen
Although an ongoing favourite, the milkmaid braid is not all that often spotted on the street.Caroline Brasch Nielsen's is so utterly sweet that I barely even noticed her leopard-print bikerjacket and maroon suede boots.
